"Try Everything" Dance Workout and an End of Year Pep Talk

Last month, I came across a COMMENT (Woot! Woot!) on my first dance workout video:

I LOVE this video and the dance! It makes me smile. When I am back on my feet, I will be learning your dance! Thanks for sharing and congrats on losing + keeping off 70lbs!

I was ecstatic!  It was so positive.  Then the comment continued:

I hope things are still going well as I just noticed this video is a year old! I’m gonna check out some of your other videos too!

That’s when I realized, it had been a year since I posted a dance workout.  An entire year!  I knew I was behind with my professional goals, but I didn’t realize it had been THAT long.  Instead of getting completely discouraged, though, I became determined to film another one that month, one I could share with this fan and get me going on making more.

That month flew by, with no new video.

But it’s a new month, almost the end of the year, and the day before my last surgery, so, guess what? I have a new workout dance video!  And even though I don’t have as many videos done as I had hoped by now, and my body can’t do as much as I wish it could, like run or jump, at least I made some time for me, for my health, and for some fun with my daughter (who helped me choreograph this time).

It’s hard sometimes to see the positive, but we are worth it.  We deserve that hard work of being hopeful.

I chose to choreograph to “Try Everything” because of the lyrics:

I messed up tonight
I lost another fight
I still mess up but I’ll just start again
I keep falling down
I keep on hitting the ground
I always get up now to see what’s next
Birds don’t just fly
They fall down and get up
Nobody learns without getting it won
I won’t give up, no I won’t give in
Till I reach the end
And then I’ll start again
Though I’m on the lead
I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail
I won’t give up, no I won’t give in
Till I reach the end
And then I’ll start again
No I won’t leave
I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail
Oh oh try everything
Look how far you’ve come
You filled your heart with love
Baby you’ve done enough take a deep breath
Don’t beat yourself up
Don’t need to run so fast
Sometimes we come last but we did our best

Like the lyrics in this song by Shakira say, “Baby you’ve done enough…Don’t beat yourself up, Don’t need to run so fast, Sometimes we come last but we did our best.” I wanted to have 52 workout videos posted for this year.  I have 3.  But it was my best.  Under my circumstances, with my learning curve, with my family, and surgeries, 3 is all I could give.  That’s okay.  It’s 3 more than I’ve done other years! Whatever you may have not accomplished this year, please be patient with yourself.  Believe in the possibilities ahead.  Trust yourself and the journey God has for you.

A tutorial video will come soon…but I can’t tell you what “soon” means.  Until then, just try to jump in and dance! Enjoy your day, your body, and your life…whatever it is.  Life is too short to frown and cry.  And if we must, like I have a little lately, allow yourself that time for a SHORT time.  Don’t wallow, friend.  When you can, pick yourself up, turn on some music, and keep moving forward.

Here is the link! Feel free to share it, please. Movement makes us happy, and we could all use that!
